Recently Lila started climbing out of her crib. Naturally we decided a big girl bed was in order. This was a big step for her and for me. Not my baby anymore? I'm not ready!
But she was. She watched in wonder as we dismantled the crib and put together this new big girl bed for her. She arranged her babies and animals a dozen times the first night. She lay there, excited and got up about three times the first night before finally settling in.
Now? She's put herself to bed for a nap by herself since day two and for bedtime with a quick kiss and "ni-night momma". It's hard. Watching her independent spirit unfold before my very eyes is both wonderful and heartbreaking. But through my foggy, sleep deprived memories of Hayden's transition to a big boy bed, I am thankful for one easy sleeper!
